Up the river

We went on a 6 day canoe trip up the Manigotagan river, June 3 - 8.

Had to fill up on of the cars before we went. With vegetable oil.

I spent over an hour sitting on the side of a truck, on a harsh road. It was surprisingly comfortable.

Found a friend at our first campsite. I picked him up too. No big deal.

Lori making popcorn.

Here's an amazing place to go for lunch. I highly recomend it.

A little bumpy on the way down.

There were some amazing spider webs in the trees. I guess a beautiful wab makes up for spiders being so ugly.

Water falls are awesome.

A guy named Charlie takes care of the river, and this is his home-away-from-home.

A bear's been a diggin'.

Here's the view from where we camped on the third night.

Going down the rapids without a canoe (on purpose).

Surfing. He's pointing upstream, by the way.

Luxury.

Ready for 24 hours of living.

A forest fire went though this are a few years ago. The biggest trees are only about 8 feet high.

Lori with a big Inukshuk.

There's more photos, but they'll have to wait.

I need a lighter camera for this stuff...

We went on an overnight hiking trip last weekend with some of the kids that Lori works with. It was a great time, except that it got down to -2, an our sleeping bags are only rated for +5...

Starting the hike.

Lots of trees.

This one is definately flipping us off.

Caribou Lake

Roughing it.

Can you find the face? I found it just now...lucky shot.

There's a pretty sweet train tunnel near the trail.

And done.

Rain Rain Go Away...

Here's one photo idea stolen...
That bowl has vinegar and sugar in it, and the wieners taste great when dipped in it.

Y'all missed this when you didn't come to the BBQ.

Tyler taking in the aroma.
